Irish app gives you road and weather information

A good iPhone application (app) is not just about creating a game or an application that no one has thought of before.
It’s also about taking hard to find or hard-to-use resources from the internet and presenting them in an easy-to-use fashion. This is exactly what an Irish developer, Kevin O’Regan, has done with his ‘Road Weather’ app.

It takes important data on Irish road conditions, which is buried in the website of the National Roads Authority, and collates it in a browseable list.

Information provided includes the condition of the road, whether there has been any recent rainfall and the air temperature.

It’s a really useful resource for anyone travelling about the country as part of their job, especially given recent flooding difficulties.

It is true that you can get all of this free simply by logging on to www.nra.ie and searching for the information. But 80 cent seems a very reasonable price to pay for the comfort of not having to do this. Price: 80 cent from iTunes
