€250,000 IT upgrade for Zamano

Mobile software firm Zamano has awarded a €250,000 contract to Hibernia Evros to implement new technology to cut operational costs and reduce its carbon footprint.

Under the terms of the contract, awarded in June 2008, Hibernia Evros replaced Zamano’s legacy hardware platform, virtualised 30 web and applications servers and implemented a Storage Area Network (SAN) solution.

John Kennedy, marketing director, Hibernia Evros Technology Group, said the new system had halved Zamano’s power consumption and cooling requirements.

‘‘HP EVA(Enterprise Virtual Array) and VMWare technologies were chosen to undertake a consolidation effort that would simplify the hardware platform that serves the company’s many products and business units and position the company to manage growth easily going forward,” said Kennedy.

Founded in 1988, HiberniaEvros provides managed IT services, including outsourcing, support and data centre services. Zamano employs 60 staff in three offices and has revenues of €41 million.
