Apps by Irish developers online

A new website to showcase iPhone applications created by Irish developers has been launched. Apps.ie features the work of more than 20 Irish developers.

At the time of press, there were 45 different applications on the website, an increase of 50 per cent since the site’s launch last month.

Applications range from Irish phone book entries to rail timetables to newsfeeds.

However, an application detailing information about the municipal Dublin Bikes scheme has been removed following the threat of legal action by the outdoor advertising firm, JC Decaux. The firm has given no reason for its legal threat.
